U.N. Security Council to discuss Ethiopia informally, source says

(Reuters) – The United Nations Security Council will hold informal talks on Tuesday on the conflict in Ethiopia’s Tigray region, according to a New York-based U.N. official and a document seen by Reuters, in a sign of growing international concern.

South Africa, as current chair of the African Union (AU) bloc, will update the council on the situation and on diplomatic efforts underway in Africa to de-escalate the three-week war, the document read.
