Update the meeting is concluded
Our latest credible news tip indicates Dr. Debretsion Gebremichael (PhD)and Ms. Fetlework Gebregziabher (Monjorno) will be the new Chairman and Vice Chairwoman respectively of the TPLF. In addition Mr. Asmelash Weldesilase (Abay Nefso), Mr. Getachew Reda, Dr. Abrham Tekeste, and Ms. Keriya Abrahim have been elected as the new executive committee members.
(tigraionline) —-We are all closely following the TPLF’s executive and central committee meeting taking place in the capital city of Tigrai state, Mekelle. The session has been going on for quite some time now and there have been some developments lately. According to the official press statement of the office of TPLF central committee, Mr. Abay Woldu the current president of Tigrai state have been removed from the Chairmanship of the TPLF and Mr Beyene Mekru have been demoted from the executive committee, but they will remain as a central committee members. Moreover, Mrs. Azeb Mesfhin has been suspended from both committees of the TPLF.
The TPLF at this particular moment is strongly demanding the set of a powerful leadership that must meet the interest of the people. The meeting is still continuing and more rearrangements are expected. According to our source that has intimate and firsthand information this is the tip of the iceberg. Our source said this current renewal is not going to be similar to those we have seen in previous years. This time the change will be profound and deeply penetrating to the core of the organization.
The aim of this change is not to do a Band-Aid solution, but it is to bring about a paradigm shift to the TPLF as an organization. The change as it has demonstrated in its start is expected to weed out all; corrupt, weak, and criminal elements of the organization that become liability to the people of Tigrai and Ethiopia in general. We believe this wave as it continues will clean the rotten elements who forgot why they are holding public office and abusing their power to enrich themselves, their families and friends.
Our source indicates that the sweeping current cleansing will route the TPLF to go back to its glorious past. Furthermore, we are informed that in the ensuing process, there will be a dynamic reforming and restructuring of the organization from top to bottom. The structuring will continue throughout the system to make sure the people have confident in the government and they are directly in control of their destiny.
Majority of the active members of the executive and central committee and the semi-retired senior members of the TPLF support this deep restoration of TPLF. It will not be an easy task to accomplish for all involved, but it is an overdue one. For some it might even be painful process when they face justice for their involvement in corruption, for denying the public good governance, and abuse of power. The people of Tigrai at large and veteran members (former TPLF fighters) have been crying for justice because some leaders neglected the state and its people thereby exposing them to unnecessary hardship and danger. State officials have forgotten their first responsibility is to work for the development of the state and advocate for the safety and security of the people of Tigrai.
At the end of the day we are positive the TPLF will come out much stronger and united than ever. We are expected those who were denied justice, unlawfully ejected from the organization, imprisoned, and their livelihood destroyed will be triumphed. The people of Tigrai and the state of Tigrai will be in better position to work with their Ethiopian brothers and sisters for a bright future of Ethiopia. It is also believed that, the assumed strength of the TPLF will force all detractors, haters and collectively all anti peace and stability groups to stop and think twice.
