  1. I want to thank the participants of Raaba Doorii program for excellent discussion and clarification of the situation in Oromia today and for updating us on the ongoing protest in the country. My own comments:
    1. The main focus of the present protest in oromia is not to weaken the economy. It is rather a general resistance with the main aim to show oromo dissatisfaction with the political situation in the country and the need for regime and system change. If the economy is weakened it is only a by-product of the powerful protest action taken. The people and their leaders are for stronger economy and less poverty. This should always be underlined.
    2. The Wayyaane regime is really weak. It has totally lost the confidence of the whole population. They are totally isolated and depend only on military force in their hands. That is the real situation on the ground. They have been telling lies on their own media for the last 26 years. People are totally fed up. Whatever they say does not matter any more because nobody believes them.
3 Jawar made a crucial point. We should not spend too much time discussing the regime. We have to focus on the issues. For example we should have discussed the political situation today, the problems we are facing and the way out. More time on this next time. Focusing on the dying regime and wasting so much time analyzing and condemning it does not benefit anybody.
    4. The regime is totally isolated. They are now telling lies that people can easily verify on daily basis and from their practical experience on the ground. This leads to more discrediting of the regime.
5.The opdo functionaries and administrators are not really obeying their bosses and cooperating to stop the present popular action in the region. They would themselves like to join. Most of them are oromo nationalists and have no confidence on the regime
    6. In the near future we have to work hard to extend such powerful protest actions to the whole of ethipia. We have to engage the whole population of the empire and rally support for the common goal of freedom and democracy for all. In due process we have to prepare the ground for post Wayyane era. It is urgent. It is meaningless or even dangerous to focus on pushing out the authoritarian regime without thinking of a better and well organized replacement
