BREAKING: MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS RECALLS ETHIOPIA’S AMBASSADOR IN RIYADH AND CONSUL GENERAL IN JEDDAH
Addis Abeba, May 23/2018 – (africanews)–Reports coming from sources within Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs say that the ministry has recalled Amb. Amin Abdulkadir, Ethiopia’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia and based in Riyadh and Wubshet Demise, Ethiopia’s consul general based in Jeddah are recalled to report to the ministry.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has paid an official visit to the Kingdom last week, during which he negotiated the release of more than a thousand Ethiopian prisoners.

According to Fitsum Arega, Chief of Staff at the PM’s Office, the PM Abiy has also “met & comforted” Halima, the “distraught but resilient mother” of Mohammed Abdul Aziz Yahya, the 16 year old Ethiopian who was left paralyzed in Jeddah hospital for the past twelve years due to botched medical procedure. Mohammed’s family has reached an agreement with the Saudi government for full compensations and a said to return to Ethiopia soon.
