Abyssinians are good at copying : Tell me one thing that is authentic from Abyssinia, please. Look at Sahle Silassie, who should be credited more than Menelik for daring to fight Oromos and successfully subdue couple of Gosas (because of their infighting) using weapons he received from the Europeans.

I think this is the same Jaarraa Johann Krapf mentioned. In fact British diplomat Cornwallis Harris writes about him: “There can be little doubt, although he [Jaarraa] has hitherto evinced strong attachment to the crown, that, imitating the example of all pagan chieftains who have gone before him, he will
one day profit by his opportunities to take up arms against Shoa, and may thus be destined to enact a most conspicuous part in the history of the[Oromo] nation.”

Jaarraa and Gobanaa fought together to keep their independence from Tewdros. But I think their relationship broke down when Gobanaa allied himself with Menelik, which led to the massacre and displacement of Galaan and Gulallee and many other gosas.

ታከለ ኡማ ምን እያሉ ነው ?
‹‹ኦሳ ማዕከሉን በአዲስ አበባ እንዲከፍት ምክትል ከንቲባው
ጠየቁ›› ይላል የቢቢቢ አማርኛ ዘገባ፤ ‹‹መልካም›› ብለናል፡፡
ኢትዮጵያዊ እስከሆኑ ድረስ መብታቸው ነው፡፡ የእኔ ጥያቄ ሌላ
ነው፡፡
የኦሮሞ ጥናት ማዕከል (OSA) ከተመሰረተ 33 ዓመት
ሆኖታል፡፡ በስደት ባሉ የኦሮሞ ምሁራን የተቋቋመው ይሄ
የጥናት ማዕከል፣ የኢትዮጵያን ሀገረ-መንግሥት ምስረታ ፈጽሞ
በማይቀበሉ ከቶም ‹‹ኢትዮጵያ በኦሮሞ ላይ የቅኝ ግዛት ወረራ
ፈጸመች›› የሚል የታሪክ ብያኔ ያላቸው አካላት ያቋቋሙት
ማዕከል ነው፡፡ በዚህ ማዕከል ውስጥ ከሀገረ መንግስት
አመሰራረት፣ ከታሪክ ውርስ ግንዛቤ፣ ከሀገር አወቃቀር ቅርጽ ጋር
በተያያዘ ተሰሩ የተባሉ ጥናቶች ሁሉ ነባሩን የኢትዮጵያን
ማህበራዊ ህሊናም ሆነ ሥነ-መንግሥታዊ ትሩፋቶች
በአውዳሚነት የሚረዱ፣ የጋራ እሴቶችን ፈጽሞ የሚክዱ፤…
በርካታ ጥናቶች ቀርበውበታል፡፡ አማራ እንደ ወራሪ ተስሎ
ቀርቧል፡፡ የነጻነት እና የሥልጣኔ ባለቤት የነበሩት ዳግማዊ አጼ
ምንልክ በአፍሪካዊ ‹‹ሂትለር›› አምሳያነት ቀርበዋል፡፡ ከአገር
ገንቢነት ሚናው ጋር በተያያዘ አማራ ከሌሎች የባህል ቡድኖች
ጋር የፈጠረውን መስተጋብር ተከትሎ ሸዋን በመሳሰሉ
አካባቢዎች የሚታየውን የባህል ተዋሃጅነት በጎደፈ ማንነት
የሚያብጠለጥሉ የ‹‹ጥናት›› ወረቀቶች በኦሮሞ የጥናት ማዕከል
ቀርበዋል፡፡ በአንጻሩ ዘርን አመንምኖ እና አሳስቶ የሚያጠፋ፣
ባህልን፣ ቋንቋንና ማህበራዊ ማንነትን ጨፍልቆ እሳት እንደገባ
ቅቤ አቅልጦ በአስደናቂ ፍጥነት ከምድረ ገጽ የሚያጠፋውን
የገዳ ሥርዓት እና ሞጋሳን እጽብ ድንቅ የሆነ ‹‹የአፍሪቃ
የዴሞክራሲ ተምሳሌት›› በሚል በ‹‹ጥናት›› ወረቀቶች ውዳሴ
ቀርቧል- በማዕከሉ፡፡ ላለፉት ሠላሳ ሦስት ዓመታት በዚህ
ማዕከል ሌላም ሌላም ተብሏል፡፡ ዘንድሮ ለመጀመሪያ ጊዜ
በአዲስ አበባ ከተማ የጥናት ጉባኤውን አካሂዷል፡፡
የእኔ ጥያቄ ከላይ የተመለከቱ ነጥቦችን የተንተራሰ አይደለም፡፡
ጥያቄየ ወዲህ ነው፡- ምክትል ከንቲባው በኦሳ የጥናት ጉባኤ
ማጠቃለያ ላያ ‹‹ማህበሩ ከዚህ በፊት ያካሄዳቸውን ጥናቶች
የፖሊሲና መመሪያዎች መሰረት መሆን ስላለባቸው በተቀናጀ
መልክ በማዘጋጀት ሥራ ላይ እንዲውሉ መድረግ አለበት››

ሲያገለግል መቆየቱም የሚረሳ አይደለም፡፡ እናስ ለኦነግ
ሲያገለግሉ የነበሩ መመሪያዎችን ነው የአገር ፖሊስና መመሪያ
እንዲሆኑ ምክትል ከንቲባው ማሰሰቢያ የሰጡት?

አኳያ የኦሮሞ ጥናት ማዕከል ከቆመላቸው ዓለማዎች ውስጥ

የሀገሪቱን የረጅም እድሜ ሀገረ መንግስትነት ታሪክ መናድ፣
• የጋራ እሴቶችን እና አኩሪ የጥንታዊ ስልጣኔ ውርሶቻችንን
በአዎንታዊ ጎን ሳይሆን በአሉታዊ ጎናቸው ለትውልድ
ማስተማር፣
• የሀገሪቱ አመሰራረት እንደ አብዛኞቹ የአለም ሀገራት ሁሉ
ዘመኑ በወለደው የአገዛዝ ስርአት የተዘወረ ሳይሆን ኢትዮጵያ
በቅኝ ግዛት የተመሰረተች ኢምፓየር እንደሆነች ቆምንለት
ለሚሉት ትውልድ ማስተማር፣
• በሀገረ-መንግስት ምስረታ ሂደት ለተፈጠሩ ቅራኔዎች
መፍትሄው ‹‹መገንጠል›› ነው በሚል ሲሰብክ የኖረ ስለመሆኑ
እኛም ሆነ እነሱ የሚክዱት ሃቅ አይደለም፡፡
እዚህ ላይ አንድ ጥያቄ ላንሳ! ባለፉት ሰላሳ ሦስት ዓመታት
የኦሮሞ ጥናት ማዕከል (OSA) የኦሮሞ ገበሬዎችን እና አርብቶ
አደሮችን ህይወት ለመቀየር የሚያግዙ ስንት ጥናቶችን
ሰራችሁ? የጥናቱ ውጤት ምን ይመስላል?…
እንደቢቢሲ አማርኛ ዘገባ ከሆነ ምክትል ከንቲባው የአዲስ አበባ
ከተማ አስተዳደር፣ … ማህበሩ የሚያከናውናቸውን ተግባራት
ለመደገፍ ዝግጁ እንደሆነ ገልጸዋል።
እንግዲህ ጨዋታውን በግልጽ አደረጉት ማለትም አይደል ?
ሀገረ-መንግሥቱን የማፍረስ እና በኦሮሞ አምሳያ የመቅረጹ
ሂደት ከወረቀት ወደ መሬት ለማውረድ ሰፊ ርቀት እየተጓዙ
ያሉትን ሰዎች በዝምታ ማየቱ ኢትዮጵያን እንደመክዳት
ይቆጠራል፡፡ ታከለ ኡማ በአደባባይ ፍላጎታቸውን ስለገለጹልን
‹‹ምስጋና›› ይገባቸዋል፡፡

  1. The answer to the question from the anti-Oromo jealous debtera scribblers is simple:

    “The dogs bark, but the caravan moves on” (old Arabic proverb). That is, “dogs barked as the caravan slowly proceeded towards its destination, but their bark couldn’t stop the caravan from reaching the end of its journey”. OSA’s research findings will definitely contribute and inform policies pertinent to the great Oromo people in particular and Ethiopian problems in general. Therefore, the Oromo and other genuinely decent Ethiopians must proceed in pursuant of their inalienable rights, unashamedly, despite the nonsensical screams from backward lunatic fringes.

  2. Well said OA. OSA is not like Alekaa Taye who created falsehood and unreasonable history about the origin of Oromo nation. According to Alekaa Taye, Oromo came from the ocean like fishes. The same history is repeating itself in 2019 with ignorant and hateful people. OSA is based on research, scientific evidence and anthropology. Members of OSA are scholars. In the last 33 years OSA brought to the world facts about the origin of Oromo, their culture, and the democratic system (Gada). I suggest you read books and articles written by OSA members to educate yourself rather than attacking OSA and Takele Uma.

    You are absolutely right that OSA is a distinctively scholarly institute whose members and researchers are exceptionally trustworthy. OSA researchers and members enthusiastically engage with exploring and enquiries pertinent to their research interests, and their findings are supported by evidences gathered from a variety of reliable sources. There is no wonder that OSA’s researchers enquiring mindset is on the opposite thought pattern and mindset to that of Abyssinians whose enquiring abilities are limited and misguided by debilitating history underpinned by false narratives. While OSA researchers and members are outward looking and informed about the issues they are researching or discussing their Abyssinian counterparts are devoid of scope of divergent thinking, and have extremely limited and impoverished world outlook. In so doing, the anti-Oromo debtera writers and current neo-neftagna scholars have created barriers not only for the aspiring historically subjugated peoples of Ethiopia, but also they have created a straightjacket for their own children, restricting them from learning true history and understanding the abundantly rich culture of the Oromo people and other Ethiopians.

    Nevertheless, Abyssinian scholars and backward subjugators cannot keep other Ethiopians from progressing and rewriting their histories, which debtera scribblers distorted in order to mislead the world. Thanks goodness, OSA scholars and some truth loving foreign writers have been able to shine some lights on the magnificent Oromo history and immensely rich culture. Despite debtera deceptions and manipulations, the world now knows that the Oromo people are among the greatest inhabitants of the Horn of Africa, and contributed to make the world a better place by, among many others, formulating and developing the gada system, one of the ancient flawless democracies. Today, hearing the name “Oromo” resonates with greatness, well grounded civility, truth, immense potential and bright future not only for the Oromo people but also for the entire humanity, marching forward to putting an end to sufferings. If Oromo achievements and greatness troubles any camp, that camp is only the anti-Oromo neo-neftagna lunatic fringes’ camp.

    The Oromo people and other truth and justice loving peoples in Ethiopia and around the world must work hard to affirm and bolster one another, so as to ensure that being subjugated by inferior savages will never return. OSA researchers are committed to paving the way by striving to conduct the best researches in order to inform policy makers to formulate policies that can solve problems and enable our people to attain their potential. Also, Mayor Takele Umma deserves praise from all sane persons for encouraging OSA to establish its presence in Oromia, basing its headquarters in Finfinne/Addis Ababa. This is a positive development not only for the great Oromo people but also for all the peoples of Ethiopia who are positive about building the new Ethiopia that treats the Sidama, the Agaw, the Gurahage, the Amhara, The Walayita, the Gumuz, the Somali, the Hadiya, the Tigrawi, the Gambella, the Oromo, etc., as equal and the wonderful peoples who will coexist and thrive in harmony. If the neo-neftagna lunatic fringes choose to stay their usual hard dying deceptive selves, the Oromo and other Ethiopians will never be held back in the dark. No one in that country will seek permission from neo-neftagna lunatic fringes to exercise their inalienable rights. OSA must take the next step of building its institute in Finfinne by applying for a land plot in the centre of the city, which the city adminstration must grant free of lease. Then, it must start fundraising straight away, which the Oromo people and friends of the Oromo people will happily donate to. In return OSA will enrich the country’s intellectual wealth through intensive researches, lectures, public awareness engagements, and so on. Get moving; it is possible, as OSA’s own development history itself clearly shows. Qeerroo and qarree, Oromo intellectuals and Oromo businessmen; take the plunge and let us have grand OSA Institute/OSA Research Centre/OSA Headquarter that measures up to the height of the great Oromo people in Finfinne/Addis Ababa.
