  1. Well, as Mahatma Gandhi observers, “no one can ride on the back of a man unless it is bent”.

We must be very honest and critical with ourselves in evaluating the “long journey” the Oromo struggles have come. The Oromo have been engaged in bitter struggles to regain their freedom and human dignity in their ancestral land. Since our nationalism has been underpinned by truth and just cause, it has attracted millions of bright minds, who have put the quest of their people for freedom and justice before their personal gains and safety. On the other hands, our people’s struggles have produced numerous gantuu and galtuu individuals who have willingly sabotaged our people’s endeavours for freedom, falling for material gains thrown to them by our enemies. Why do we think our genuine and capable leaders being haunted down and eliminated while our scared cause is strangled in extreme mediocrity?

The Oromo struggles for freedom and justice have been suffering from chronic lack of leadership. As the enemy mercilessly cleansed off capable and genuine Oromo leaders effectively, at all stages of the struggles, mediocre and shamefully ineffective “leaders” have strangled and suffocated our just cause. Every time the Oromo struggles approached victory mediocre and euphoric individuals pretending to be “Oromo leaders” flocked in to engage in sabotaging and setting back the approaching freedom trains. We then engage in blaming enemy deception and manipulation, making all possible efforts not to expose the fact that our great people have been suffering mainly due to lack of leadership while enemy cruelty is obvious. Near victories were snatched from our people in 1974, 1991 and 2018 in almost the same manner not necessarily because our enemies are stronger than the Oromo people but due to abject lack of leadership. What has happened in 2018 was particularly mind boggling and quite hurting. We witnessed con men who had been repressing our people as enemy middle men and women coming out and shamelessly playing their last cheating cards, posing to be Oromo nationalists from within enemy camp. They hid their true motives in sweet words and told us that “their masters were their people”. They promised that “qeerroo blood would never be spilled again”. Many euphoric “elites” flocked in giving the con men unearned acceptance among our people and putting water on the burning victory flames. Oh, the said “struggle leaders” also just shaked hands with the con men without binding agreements and handed themselves in, endangering the lives of numerous Oromo nationalists and exposing our people to untold sufferings in the hands of 21st fascists.

How long can our people be cheated? How long can lack of effective leadership dwarf our great people holding them back? How long can our people endure to suffer in the hands of inferior enemies due to lack of farsighted strong leadership?

The great Oromo people, qeerroo and qarree; your future depends on your ability to promote capable and genuine leaders who can provide high standard of leadership and also manage situations effectively. The sky is not going to be the limit for the great Oromo people only if they understand their immense power and promote able leaders to lead their struggles for just cause.

  2. ይህ በኦሮሞ ብሔርተኝነት የተገነባውና ቆራጥ ትውልድ የ150 ዓመታት የኦሮሞ ሕዝብ ጭቆናን ማብቃት and a little later you made it clearer than before when you wrote the word ለነፃነት in ለነፃነት ትግላችን እንቅፋት እንዲሆኑ እያመቻቸ ነው። This description of the Oromo liberation struggle or resistance against barbaric Abyssinian colonialism is a very good observation which I enthusiastically support and fight for. But I have not heard anyone of the OPDO leader committed themselves agreeing to lead us to liberation. I have heard many of the opdo leaders saying “Ethiopianism sus new”, and “returning Ethiopia to its past glories” etc. To me the so called Ethiopia’s “past glory” had ruined that part of Africa to benefit a few neftegnas. Therefore, I for one start opposing col. Abiy and Lemma megersa since they uttered these phrase and likened col. abiy to col. mengistu. And began including https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deqMqZlr4_8
to ask someone identify if a certain Andargachew Tsige or Birhanu Nega are among these “defenders of Ethiopa?” Otherwise why such fake “love of Ethiopia” and “we will die defending ethiopia” when in fact neither them or their forefathers were not around on the battle front lines. Certainly, they have this unquenchable thrist for power; I was also asking the so called glories be listed one by one and if making the longest line of helpless and forgotten Abyssinians is in the list ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ML32CeRUglU )

To conclude: we have never received a promise to lead us in the context Birhanu hunde made from the so called leaders but some gave recognition to the discredited OPDO as the ones leading them. On the question of leadership I cannot contemplate anyone better qualified at the moment other than the selfless collective leaderships we have in WBO. I suggest we join the rank and file and lead grass-roots units in every locality the in and out we know best. If someone else wants to lead he/she has to declare openly and unequivocally that they are not Ethiopians but Oromo and Oromo only. Otherwise he/she is a colonial representative to rule over us than to let us administer ourselves.

    Support WBO!
    Boycott ethiopia!
