The killings, the looting and the displacements of the Oromo people in Moyale have been sustained over the last two decades because of not just the impotence of the OPDO gov’t in Oromia to act but also because the TPLF-led federal gov’t wanted to use the area as a flash point to attack and weaken the Oromo resistance mov’t which was forced to retreat to that area in this southern Oromia (aka zoonii kibbaa). This has to end, and it has to end now. Given #OPDO (re-branded as #ODP) is now asserting its power both in Oromia and at the federal level, it should swiftly act to stop these senseless and sustained attacks in Moyale.
