Teferi Nugussie, who played the key role in the campaign to inscribe Gadaa System in UNESCO hasdly been arrested for second time.
Teferi is a graduate student at Addis Ababa University. He organized academics and elders to undertake and present the research needed to convince UNESCO to register Gadaa in World Heritage. He is also instrumental in Gadaa revival movement helping the formation of Oromia Gadaa Council. He was previously arrested from the #GrandOromoProtests in Finfine on August 6th and was released after months of detention. His brother who was a lecturer was also jailed at the start of the protest last year. TPLF tries to take credit for Gadaa being registered by UNESCO while incarcerating those who worked hard to make it happen.
