(MIRROR) – Two RAF typhoon jets escorted a Pakistan International Airlines flight to London Stansted following reports over a “suspicious item” on board.
The flight was heading for London Heathrow when it was intercepted moments before it was due to land.
Fighter jets were reportedly scrambled to escort the Airbus A330-300 to London Stansted, which is the default airport for security threats, according to airlive.net.Other witnesses claimed there was a “disruptive passenger on board.”
Witnesses claim the plane has now landed safely at Stansted after an almost 10 hour flight.
